The United States National Park System is more than just National Parks. It includes National Monuments, Battlefields, Military Parks, Memorials, Historic Sites and much more. Now you can find all of these national treasures!

GPS mapping is at the heart of the app displaying park destinations and tracking your progress as you travel. A search menu lets you search for National Park properties close to you, or find park destinations near any city you plan to visit. For many parks, multiple destinations are included guiding you to entrance stations and visitor centers throughout the parks.

Each destination includes a park description and direct links to the parks website and information line. Unlike other apps that rely on potentially outdated information stored within their app, these links provide you with the latest up-to-date information and alerts right from the National Park Service.

A built-in "GO" button for each destination passes accurate GPS coordinates directly to your devices navigation software providing turn-by-turn driving directions. For those who prefer using a different GPS device, weve also included latitude and longitude coordinates in the most popular formats for each park destination.

Finding cellular service can be a challenge in the National Parks so both Open Streets Maps and USGS Maps can be cached to use offline. This way, youll always have a reliable map with you in the park! Be sure to read the apps built in manual for details on how to plan for offline use.

The apps built-in waypoint function allows you to store, map, and annotate your own custom GPS enabled destinations with just a touch on the map, and then get immediate turn-by-turn driving directions to your waypoints using the "GO" button.

Both park destinations and waypoints include a "Target" function that displays your targeted destination on the map and calculates its distance and compass bearing from your current location.

Planning to take a hike? Cache maps of your planned route while online. At the trailhead, save your parking spot as a waypoint. Use cached USGS maps to track your progress on the trail. Set your cars waypoint as the "Target" and have the app guide you back to your vehicle counting down your distance along the way.

GPS National Parks USA is a must have app for anyone planning to visit Americas National Park system.

NOTE - Some destinations included in this app can only be reached by boat or plane. These destinations do not include a "GO" button. Of course, if you are in California, you cant drive to a national park destination in Hawaii using the "GO" button. Be sure to use you best judgment when using GPS navigation. In addition, The National Park Service sometimes includes warnings on their "Directions" web page about the limitations of GPS navigation to certain parks. We suggest you review these warnings carefully.
